Selling vacant land in Brevard County

Brevard is our home market for land research: Palm Bay, Melbourne, Malabar, Grant-Valkaria and the rest of the county. Here is what helps when you're thinking about selling a lot here.

Common questions from Brevard landowners

How do I find my parcel ID?

Search your name or address on the Brevard County Property Appraiser website (bcpao.us). The parcel ID and tax account number are on the property's page and on your property tax bill. Sending us either one is the fastest way for us to identify your lot.

What affects what a Brevard lot is worth?

Mostly: city water and sewer (or well and septic), road access, size, zoning (single-family or multifamily), flood zone, wetlands, and how many builders are buying nearby. In Palm Bay, lots with city water and sewer have sold for roughly twice as much as well-and-septic lots - see our Palm Bay numbers.

I inherited a lot in Brevard. Can I still sell it?

Usually yes. A title company will tell you what's needed to show you can sell - often a recorded court order or paperwork from the estate. Tell us what you know; it's a common situation. More about inherited land.

I don't live in Florida.

Many Brevard lot owners live out of state. Closings can usually be signed by mail or with a remote notary through the title company. Selling land you live far from.

Are there back taxes on my lot?

You can check on the Brevard County Tax Collector's website. Unpaid property taxes are normally paid from the sale price at closing. If a tax deed sale is scheduled, time matters - contact us early.
